Best 3D printer components recommendation ?
« on: March 01, 2016, 05:44:27 AM »
Hi All !

In my company we are currently using and Serie 1 3D printer, but this printer is quite a disaster (I really don't recommend it to you, way too expensive for the performance).
So we want to build our own with a bigger build volume -> 600x600x600m. I have around 7k€ for the complete printer ;D
I know that you all have better knowledge than me in the printer topic, that's why I'm asking for your help and advise ;)

What do you think about this first configuration ?
Thanks in advance for you support ;)

filament side have a look at the  http://3dprinting.com/news/the-palette-filament-feeding-system/ multi colour!!.
hotend E3D http://e3d-online.com/Volcano/V6-VOLCANO-POWER-PACK-175-UNIVERSAL-12V although depending on the board  24V could be an option?

as for boards am tempted to say   http://smoothieware.org/smoothieboard

some nice ideas for corexy/Hbot designs http://openbuilds.org/?category=h-bot-and-core-xy&id=274

Thanks Jinx for the tips ! I really appreciate  :D

What do you think about this : http://www.dglass3d.com/shop/hot-ends/ & http://www.dglass3d.com/products/hpx2/ ?
Do you know them ?

Also, for the heated bed, do you know a website which can deliver custom size ?

it's too early to pass comments on the D3D aint enough in the real world yet,  the multi nozzle lift is a nice feature avoiding nozzle contact with print without the need to lift the Z axis, that's gotta save print time and produce  finer looking prints. and for the average reprap would last years. for an industrial use am not so sure!!!.

Off all the metal not seen one that's outstanding over any other most share similar  characteristic. only one that's been thoroughly tested and a proven track record  " just they got there first!! no one complains about an E3D and the v6 is the pinnacle of hotend design, least to configure with an open source design and detailed plans to reproduce in house with a lathe and drill press.
coupled with a palette and a single Hotend  "think offers the best solution for multi colour and infill. given the possible print size you looking for, the use of a http://www.filastruder.com/ could reduce print cost and I run it straight into the palette for infill leaving three channels for premium filaments.

but for a $1200 extrusion plan I'll fly one of the makers over set it up, proves its and guarantee the thing will run 30 hrs straight.

befor the hotend what kind of a carriage design I opt for a quick change rather than keep swapping nozzles think the robust SS nozzle for carbon/PEG filament and brass for PLA/ABS  the use of E3D   Volcano upgrade pack  with upto  1 mm orifice.

as for the heatbed I aint had enough coffee yet!!!. but given the size of your bed thinking a big ass  custom sheet of polyimide heater or two http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-X-18-Heatbed-PCB-Heated-Bed-for-3D-Printing-/261374879832  .regulating both maybe a challenge
