Ha ha, if that's all that needs adjusting then you are a pure wizard.
You've put it together from vague direction and sketchy dimensions from me ha ha!

Now I just need to find somebody who can stick these in a facking Illustrator template!
I swear, we have so many gifted people here at the College, but none of them know a single thing outside of their realm. Nobody knows sketchup. Those who know illustrator use nothing else, so don't know how to import things.
It's enough to drive even the most sane person MAD, I tells ya, MAAAAAD!!!

I am not sure if this will help but here it is.
I used to do a lot of 3D Modeling and Animation several years ago and many of the tools I used for it work with stl files. Here is a link to one of the tools I used for conversion of files and it allows you to convert a stl to dxf or dwg or 3ds or obj etc... http://www.micromouse.ca/

Just a quick update.

Having an absolute nightmare trying to get these dxf files imported into Illustrator; they are not holding their dimensions and so are appearing to be really, really small.

Jinx - I'm so sorry - is there any chance you could export them as a .jpg from the sketchup file?
I have found a man with a saw who has said he will cut the parts if I can just print the parts off onto paper.

yea it can be done easy enough   .jpg you still have an issue of scaling?
why cant you scale up the ones in Illustrator. and give the the Illustrator user's a crack and whip, this is basic file import and somewhere  is/ should be a setting for size correction.  read the latest Illustrator a picky B&^%D.  so get them to grab inkscape  import the files than export them to Illustrator!!!

Cheers mate, I appreciate it.
Don't worry, the whip is still being cracked to get these f*ckers to get the job done; at least with the jpegs I'll be able to print them on paper for a cutting template in the mean time.
