Hello all,

Been a few years since I actually built a robot and since I have never really tried to build anything with legs here we go.

Here is the plan so far:

- 12 DOF using MG90S microservos
- rpi zero w as brainz
- PCA9685 16 channel pwm driver for the many servos
- custom built battery pack out of two 3.6v li-ion cells with BMS
- an ubec to provide the 5v
- sensors TBD

I have all the parts in stock for a while now which is cool

Software wise (still in planning):
- the pi will run a custom build linux image
- the control software will be spawned from an earlier project I've been playing with written in golang using a framework called gobot.io...

I have started making a 2D Side Scroller game Cyberpunk themed.
The character, walls, ceiling and ladder are from the Warped City tileset (https://ansimuz.itch.io/warped-city).
The brick background wall is a darker version from a tutorial I have found (https://www.deviantart.com/makestuffhapen/art/Brick-wall-tutorial-334697091).

The hexagonal tiles, the door, cabinet, desk (with computer on top), bed and window are my own.

Current state of the MSD

The Motorized solder dispenser

They say necessity is the mother of invention. I can't say that this is an example of that, but it's 'extreme feature creep' at least.    I have an RGB LED kit I hope to assemble that has a LOT of surface mount parts to solder. I plan to hand solder everything, one component value at a time, with some very small diameter solder. I was thinking about trying to hold the almost limp solder and not buggering everything up in the process. Then as I pondered that problem, I thought a little hand held solder dispenser must surely exist already, but a lot of googling tol...

Needed an additional clock for my 2nd fallout shelter, electronics are now operational, so thought it best to share current iteration.

Software defined radio (aka SDR), is a way of automating tuning into Audio/Digital radio receptions.

I am using a very simple (un-nervingly sensitive) USB dongle type RTL-SDR.COM

(cost inclusive antenna & mount was < £25).


This is able to tune through a huge spectrum of frequencies 0hz!! > 2.5Ghz

On a basic level it will tune into music radio station.....how ever where is the fun in that......

Also covers all the Radio Amateur bands , Dab radio and also Dab TV....etcetera
