Finally tried out a Chinese PCB service

It's been a long while since I have been around. Life had me move to a new city (a proper city! :) )  I've had a lot of extra things to tie me up, but I have free time now.

I have seen all of the JLPCB, PCGOGO, etc... sponsored videos on youtube and wanted to try one out. I spit out a couple of designs of things I either make a lot of with stripboards or others I buy and use.

The first is an Arduino Pro mini breakout board. I have made a lot of these over the years with PCB strip and or prototype boards.

It has all the IO pins broke-out with Vcc and GND set in servo header order. It allows for Vcc or an external source on the V pin row and is controlled by a jumper. This will give you the ability to run servos or sensors off a separate power source. 

The second is a solderable breadboard I call the "Naan board" (TM) ;)

I like these type boards, but find that they are pricey even in bulk. I added a few things I wanted to the design like more columns and non-connected holes for odd components/connections.

I ended up going with JLCPCB and have no regrets.  The service was great, fast and cheap. The boards are of excellent quality. I sent the board Gerber files in on Jan 25 and had them in hand on Jan 30th!  It was my first order, so I got a discount on shipping and paid $13.74 USD shipped DHL for 25 PCB's in total.

I'll order some others in a few weeks.

PS: I took the cheap easy, lazy way and laid out the boards using Fritzing via the PCB view,

Long time no see :)
I've made some very similar boards. I've used dirtypcb's and Seeedstudio for pcb manufacturing, happy with both. It's so bloody cheap, much easier and cleaner then soldering on a strip/perfboard.
