HF x2 mill un boxing

came across this  first timer of the Harbor Freight X2 mill in parts!   

you think with the raising costs of these machines there be bleeding metal gears!.

The plastic replacement gears are cheap a part of me feels like this was done to prevent newbies from ruining their new machines, the small Chinese lathes have the plastic gears as well. I also wonder if it is meant to limit liability both for machine and injury to the operator of the seller.

You can always do what I did. I cut my own aluminum replacement gears. I used lock collars (which I also cut) to hold them on the shafts. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures on this computer. But it was a surprisingly easy operation, since those plastic POS gears are made to be replaced. I'll share some picture's after I get them off the other pc.

I can't find the pictures of the gears that I cut. I'll post them once I find them.
