Welcome to the model section
« on: January 20, 2018, 10:11:40 AM »

Welcome to the RobotRebels 3D model section, what better way to share a conceptual idea than with a fully rotational and zoom able 3d object. Thanks to killer Angel we rebels now have that ability and  for a little fun members can personalise the view of there model whether to rotate or static, Alter  the colour of the object and background of the viewing window. members are encouraged to play.

There are several reason for the creation and sharing of objects first is to create a repository of every day objects used in the robotic world, so members can quickly build 3D models of there bots, another is to encourage new and old members into 3D modelling which to create and promote a collaborative involvement.

Our model section aint as fancy as other dedicated sites like Thingiverse and the likes but it is functional and simple to use. Inserting an stl file into a post is as trivial as posting an image,  a file attachment  option at the bottom of the page provided,,, simply navigate to where the file is stored on your PC to upload and click on the page where you want the insert too appear  and click (Insert Attachment) " right of the dialogue  box then you done. for more details on inserting stl files into posts http://www.robotrebels.org/index.php?topic=524.msg2508#msg2508

There no big red button here to download in stead you see the file name next to a paper clip just below the viewing window click that and the model will begin downloading.

For the designer/up loader they're are limitation what we can achieve in a forum setting and how many models can be presented in a single posting without slowing down page loading to the reader, in general limiting each posting to three models "should make healthy viewing  for those with slower connection, there no limit on posting. We have no formal layout to posting and robotrebels pleasantly request members add a short description and possible some pointers towards printing. " if the object is printable the model section not entirely about 3d printing".

terms: We rebels have few terms but what we do have, are to protect the members rights with there intellectual property/design so with that in mind RobotRebels.org hereby gives notice that all models unless otherwise specified by the designer are submitted and shared with others "you" in line with creative commons licence agreement.

where models are presented to you as real world objects all rights and whatnots revert to the owner as intended by the original licenses, and models are intended for personal use in the creation of your next bot project.
