3D printing: autoleveling, autoadjustment
« on: June 18, 2016, 04:49:13 PM »

Just a posting to gather some links for the topic of autoleveling/adjusting and the like:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Enable-Auto-Leveling-for-your-3D-Printer-Marlin-Fi/

http://www.pibot.com/pibot-optical-reflection-endstop-rev143.html
Did not find a word about accuracy there.
Seems to be infrared which is probably not that good when using a heatbed.

http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?t=8698

But the sensor switches like
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B008FY763C/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
seem to be not that accurate e.g. "Detection Distance  8mm +/- 10% "
( http://www.ekt2.com/pdf/14_PROXIMITY_INDUCTIVE_18EX.pdf ) = +/- 0.8mm
A piece of paper is 0.1mm  !

Maybe something optical:
"The θ1 phase shift data is used to yield the highest level of resolution (determined by (c/ ƒ 1 ) * (1/360)
mm/degree), 0.0243 mm/degree."
[ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/209015138_A_high_accuracy_ultrasound_distance_measurement_system_using_binary_frequency_shift-keyed_signal_and_phase_detection?enrichId=rgreq-83606f43-4a4d-449c-833f-5d4137d2f9ae&enrichSource=Y292ZXJQYWdlOzIwOTAxNTEzODtBUzoxMDE1NjUzNjkxNTk2ODJAMTQwMTIyNjQ3OTU5NQ%3D%3D&el=1_x_3 ]

Or mechanical:
"Resolution : 1.5 µm for 3 mm stroke
4.5 µm for 9 mm stroke"
http://www.microstrain.com/displacement/dvrt?qt-product_quicktab=1#qt-product_quicktab ]

Just found this one:

https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/mini-height-sensor-board/

The video looks a bit strange and shows some mechanical sensor also but it looks like it does not touch
the heatbed.
 ;)

Ordered this thing:
https://www.mouser.at/ProductDetail/Omron/Z4D-C01/?qs=%2fha2pyFadug46evOemZltRDLPKvYVeRbiFzFb%252bhDb0I%3d

Maybe  6.5 mm  and ±10 μm is usable to detect distance to heatbed and use that for some measurement/leveling?
